Iyengar Yoga for Adults

Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and Body Motion professional

After a professional career in contemporary dance and academic studies in France and the United States, in particular at the Laban Bartenief Institute of Movement and the Body Mind Centering Institute, I returned to France and discovered, by meeting Stéphane Wintenberger in Lyon, Iyengar yoga.

Six years later, in 2019 I was certified as a Iyengar Yoga Teacher (base 2).

Iyengar yoga allows me to deepen the precision and rigor experienced in my previous practices of coded techniques in classical and modern dances and less coded in contemporary dance.

Teaching Iyengar Yoga allows me to combine the skills drawn from my professional experiences as a teacher in dance, functional anatomy, education sciences and movement therapy.

Observation, adaptation, the call to proprioceptions and progressivity are my preferred tools to accompany with generosity, respect and much humility practitioners through the holistic awakening of Iyengar Yoga.

The teaching of yoga according to BKS Iyengar is based on the thorough practice of asanas (yoga poses) and pranayama (yogic breathing). The teaching of Iyengar Yoga is characterized by: attention to the alignment of the different parts of the body in space, the organization of poses in sequences and the use of supports (straps, bricks, blankets, chairs, etc.).

The practice is carried out in the search for rigor, intensity and precision. These three basic principles help to develop a better physical and mental balance and provide all the benefits that yoga promises. The teaching is progressive and adapted to the physical abilities of each. The use of support facilitates the learning of poses.

Peacefully, at their own pace, with the help of appropriate supports and advice, away from any competitive spirit, students are encouraged to overcome their fears and the mental limits to which we are all so subconsciously attached.
